Solar Light Batteries
Solar and Garden Lights batteries were often the Nickel Cadmium type of AA or AAA size battery. Nickel Cadmium batteries are no longer available as they have been replaced by the more environmentally friendly Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) variety.

NiMH batteries are usually of a higher capacity. The capacity of AA and AAA batteries is measured in milli-amps per hour (mAh). Typically you will find that your original batteries are about half of the capacity of the replacement NiMH batteries, say, 300mAh compared with 600mAh or more. This means they store more energy and your solar or garden lights will stay lit longer.
