Household batteries; most of
the popular types of batteries
you will often find in the
typical household.
We list the AA and AAA size;
C and D size batteries, with
the PP3 9 volt battery often
used in smoke detectors. You
have a choice of alkaline
batteries and lithium batteries
in some of these sizes. The
lithium batteries can be used
in all the same applications as
alkaline but will last between
4 and 7 times longer, but they
may only cost twice as much.
The widely used
LR44 or GP A76 alkaline
battery is also shown. The
silver oxide version is listed
as a 357 in the watch battery
section. The batteries shown
are used for powering toys,
radios, torches, electronic
devices, remote controls,
thermostats and central
heating controls and many
more.
