A note about Water Resistant and Water Proof watches: Water Resistant watches may be splashproof but are not water proof. They will not stop water from getting into the mechanism and ruining your watch. Typically this includes watches with a water resistant rating given by the manufacturer of up to 100m. (This is not the depth your watch is resistant to, just the atmospheric pressure and water resistance tests it is subjected to). Water proof watches are usually those with a 100m rating and above. These are designed for use whilst swimming and possibly diving but are not waterproof if the crown is pulled or other buttons used whilst in water.
